The Party Committee of the School of Business Administration (SBA) took active measures to thoroughly implement various tasks and ensure the effective promotion of targeted assistance and counterpart assistance work.
1. Strengthen Organizational Leadership and Intensify Research Deployment
The Party-Administration Joint Meeting is held regularly to study and review the targeted assistance and counterpart support work to ensure the orderly progress of the work. Through the annual special work meeting, the annual key tasks are clarified to ensure the pertinence and effectiveness of the targeted assistance and counterpart support work.
2. Deepen Implementation Strategies and Refine Action Plans
(1) Educational Assistance - Signing a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics
17th October 2023, SBA of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law(ZUEL) and SBA of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics(XJUFE) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement at XJUFE. Zhou Mingshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of XJUFE, attended and delivered a speech. Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA of ZUEL and Director of the MBA Education Center, Chen Yuping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the SBA of XJUFE, Wang Haifang, Dean of the SBA of XJUFE, and more than 200 teachers and students attended the signing ceremony.
(2) Financial Assistance
In 2023, the school will fully mobilize alumni resources and actively raise funds and material assistance. In alignment with the directives of the school party committee, the requirements of the supporting areas, and the actual situation of the school, we will proactively implement financial assistance measures. The school will continue to leverage the full potential of its alumni network to drive donations and material assistance. The school introduced assistance funds and raised donations totaling 100,000 yuan to support the construction and development of Yanjin County, Yunnan Province and Hongshi Village, Xianning City. The school party committee was awarded the title of Advanced Collective for Targeted Assistance in the school's July 1st commendation.
3. Consumption Assistance
The school insists on combining consumption assistance with centralized procurement, teachers' and students' holiday consumption and daily consumption, deeply tapping the consumption assistance potential of teachers, students, alumni, and cooperative units. Additionally, the school vigorously purchase agricultural and sideline products from Yanjin County, Tongcheng County and other areas through offline channels and online platforms such as Agricultural and sideline products online sales platform for poverty-stricken areas, e-assistance and so on. The total consumption assistance is 100,236 yuan.
4. Focus on Rural Revitalization
November 17th to 18th, 2023, the 4th Hubei Rural Revitalization Strategy Summit Forum was grandly held at ZUEL. This summit forum focused on the theme of Rural Revitalization Policy and Practice, and included two theme report sessions: Rural Revitalization Theory and Thinking, and Rural Revitalization Policy and Practice. It presented the research results of experts and scholars, the current policy practices, and the experiences and insights of front-line workers. In addition, two sub-forums were set up: the Rural Revitalization Forum for Young and Middle-aged Scholars, and the Rural Revitalization Entrepreneurs and Alumni Forum.
The Youth Co-creation Practice Team of the Agricultural Economics and Management of SBA of ZUEL participated in the Youth Co-creation school practice team sharing and display activities in Hubei Province, and was awarded the title of Silver Demonstration Team. The practice project is themed Exploration of Rural Governance Paths Based on the Concept of Co-creation, focusing on topics such as rural revitalization, rural governance, and strengthening agriculture. The project is guided by Dean Wu Haitao, Director of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Management Deng Yuanjian. 7 experts and 45 undergraduate, master and doctoral students form the Youth Co-creation youth practice team to conduct visits and surveys.
Strengthening rural financial service capabilities will ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively to key areas and weak links of rural revitalization, providing stronger financial support for the comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization and the acceleration of the construction of agricultural power. To this end, the China Construction Bank Hubei Branch held the 2023 'Golden Wisdom for the People, Rural Revitalization' 10,000 Students Summer Rural Practice Activity. The first class of master students in the Rural Development (Rural Revitalization Finance) major of the SBA participated in the event under the leadership of their tutors Dr. Sun Huichun and Dr. Shi Zhanwen.
In the summer of 2023, Deng Aimin, Director of the Department of Tourism Management, led a rural tourism experts research activity in Hubei Province. This research project, which focused on rural revitalization, Chinese-style rural modernization, and beautiful rural construction, was conducted in several locations across China, including Taihe Village(Jianshi County), Metasequoia Garden(Wuqi Street, Qianjiang City), Beishan Village and Baiguoshuwan Village(Dawu County), Shilongtou Village (Hekou Town, Xisaishan District, Huangshi), Liangshan Village, and Zhaofan Village (Changxuanling, Huangpi District). The activity was led by Deng Aimin, the head of the first batch of double leaders studios in universities across the country, aiming to leverage disciplinary expertise and teaching staff, consolidate and expand the brand of field party-building work, and jointly draw a new picture of rural revitalization.
